Understanding these two elements helps you decide how to best use your images.
Background images
The function of a background is to provide the overall colour, pattern or texture for the entire design. It reaches the very edges of the surface to ensure there are no blank white spaces. Because the background forms the foundation of your design, it stays behind your contact information, logo and other details.
Logos
The function of a logo is to identify your brand. It's a standalone graphic that represents your business, like a signature on a letter. Unlike a background, a logo is a specific focal point that’s often placed prominently in the design. It appears on top of the background image and doesn't cover the full surface.
