Don't get white backgrounds on your cards

These are usually great. About 20% of my card fronts have grey smears on them, mainly near the edge. . . . the card fronts are mostly white. They are in matt stock but if you tip the card and get the light on the card on the right angle you can see they have polished bits where they look crushed through rollers resulting in grey smears on the white fronts. Very dissapointing seeing the few left in my last batch are beautiful and fully matt, no polished bits. See image. There is no grey in my file. And each card has it in different places. Not sure I'll buy these again. Not a good look handy over a business card that looks like you spilled something in

I am writing to express my concerns regarding a recent business card order placed through your website. I chose your service based on the information provided online, which stated that your company is Wellington-based and has a branch in Petone. This local presence was a key factor in my decision to proceed with the order. However, after completing the purchase, I was informed that delivery would occur within the next couple of days as it was delivered from Australia. This timeline has since extended into several weeks, with the expected delivery date repeatedly changing. To add to the confusion, I received a call from the courier last week stating that they attempted to deliver the cards to the business address printed on the cards. This address is not currently staffed, and it is unclear why the delivery was directed there, as the correct delivery address provided during the order process was different. This situation raises serious concerns about the service adverstised.

I recently ordered business cards from Vistaprint and unfortunately, I’m really disappointed with the quality. The print looks cheap, and the cards arrived with visible marks—likely from the cutting process. The edges are frayed and uneven, which makes the whole presentation feel rushed and low-grade. Definitely not what I expected. For a brand that promotes quality and professionalism, this fell well short. I won’t be ordering again unless the quality improves significantly.

Standard corners tend to give cards a more traditional look – the clean 90-degree cuts feel classic and elegant. Rounded corners create a more modern look and feel – the softer edges add playfulness without sacrificing professionalism.

Yes. Our recycled matte cards are made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper.

No. Different paper stocks absorb ink differently, and this may affect how your design looks when it’s printed. We recommend you consider the following when selecting your paper:

  • Is your design predominantly dark or light? If your design includes darker colours, consider a paper stock with a higher gsm or a coated paper - these options can boost the vibrancy of dark colours. If your design features lighter colours, linen or ridged paper stocks are good choices.
  • Does your design feature all-over colour or simple lines and text? Once again, coated paper stocks are often a suitable choice for designs with a lot of colour because they can make colours appear more vivid and prevent ink from being absorbed too much by the paper. For simple lines and text, consider using cotton and recycled paper stocks for the best results.
    Always remember to pick the paper that best suits your design and your general style.

Our brilliant finishes are special upgrades that add more visual interest to your card design. Our spot UV finish applies raised gloss to specific areas of your design, while our metallic finish provides a smooth and shiny accent. With the foil finish, your card will feature a raised and light-catching texture in gold or silver.
Please note that these finishes can only go on the front side of your card.

To create an eye-catching and effective standard business card, we recommend you keep the following three tips in mind:

  • Use no more than 2 fonts. Too many text styles make a design look less professional and it’s harder to read and understand. Font size matters too. Keep headlines big and bold and don’t go below 10 points for your body copy – you want everyone to be able to read what you have to say.
  • Stick to your brand colours to keep things consistent. Plus, make sure your text stands out from the background, so choose the font colour wisely.
  • If you’re uploading a design, make sure it has a resolution of at least 300 DPI, for crisp printing.
  • Remember, your printed design may vary from the digital version you edit. So, make sure to check the design proportions before placing the order, to avoid any distortion.
