Can I connect my domain name from a different host to my Vista x Wix website?

Domains that are hosted with a different service provider can be connected to your Vista x Wix site, the process is quick and easy!

To connect your domain, follow the steps below:

Step 1 

Go to our Domain Names page by navigating to Websites & Digital Marketing/Websites by Vista x Wix and selecting Domains.

Step 2

Click connect a domain you already own.

Log in to your VistaPrint account.

Step 4

If your website is not on a premium plan, you will be advised to upgrade. You can immediately select your premium plan.

If you own one or more premium plans already, you will be able to select the website you want to connect the domain to. Select the website by clicking on it, then click Continue at the bottom of the page.

Step 5

In the next screen, enter the domain name that you want to connect to your site.

Step 6 

In some cases, the system will locate the host of your domain name. You must confirm that it is the correct host before you can proceed.

You will now be advised to update the nameservers. Updating the name servers takes approximately 5 minutes. You will be able to do this step-by-step. Click Start to proceed.

Step 7 

Go to the website of the provider that hosts your domain name and log in to your account. Then, in the domain connection process, select I logged in.

Step 8 

Go to the domain settings page on the website of your provider in your account, then click I found my domain settings.

Step 9 

Find the nameserver setting in your domain name settings. You will be able to see what they currently look like. Click I found the nameservers to go to the next step.

Step 10

You will now be presented with the new nameservers that you can use to replace the current ones. These will connect your domain name to your Vista x Wix website. There are two nameservers. 

For example: 

  • Nameserver 1 ns13.wixdns.net
  • Nameserver 2 ns12.wixdns.net

Once you have updated the nameservers in your provider’s domain settings, click I’ve replaced my nameservers.

Step 11

This screen indicates that all the steps required are complete. It can take up to 48 hours for the website to populate under the name. You will be notified once the connection is complete.
